| 204131 | 2003-12-30 04:59:00 | I have a couple of .tif images that I want to view. They're roughly 240mb each. They crash Microsoft Office Picture Manager if I try to open them in that, and they take a minute or so to open in Irfanview. Is there a program around that specialises in opening and panning etc. large images? I'm only new to Irfanview, but I find it annoying when trying to pan the image (which is 9800x8000). Thanks, Mike. |

Not really suitable for this image :) and besides, 640x480 is less that 7% of the original size :) you don't get to see much at that size :) even at 1024x768 its small :D While we're on the subject of Irfanview... It loads this 240mb tif image in about a minute (maybe less), yet a 4mb MrSid image I loaded took closer to 4 minutes :) (mind you, uncompressed the MrSid was also around 240mb). Cheers, Mike. |
