| 204021 | 2003-12-29 22:23:00 | I have Slackware 9.1, and was running it for about 2 months (Had been running 9.0 for about a month before that). Its a great and fast Distro in comparison to the speed of Redhat 9 on my machine. I wasnt satisfied with the Slakpak's and .tgz management system (Which is why I began compiling most of my applications because I install so many!), and aside from that I'd always wanted an OS from source, so I went with Gentoo. Im currently installing Vector 4.0 on a 486, and that's based on Slackware 9.0 I like the latest GNOME they've included though, and its very easy to make it look very stylish :-) Im using the nuvola theme which you can get as part of the gnome-themes package. Dont get me wrong, its the best binary-based Distro Ive used. Find anything you like in particular about it? |
