| 204100 | 2003-12-30 04:37:00 | I really hate when I go to push the CD eject button and hit the power button instead! Does anybody know of a keyboard shortcut or utility that allows you to open or close the CD drawer from the keyboard or mouse? I know some programs have this feature but I want to be able to do it all the time regardless of application. | NIGGEL (2358) | ||
| 204101 | 2003-12-30 06:27:00 | you can use the build in windows cd player deluxe, go to start > programs > accessories > entertainment > cd player check in the options.. there should be the option to show controls in the system tray or similar (I dont have a cdrom in my shuttle so I cant check for you right now) anyway, once the cdplayer's icon is in the systemtray, you can just right click on it and the option to eject will be in the menu that pops up... open and close to your heart's content :) |

| 204103 | 2003-12-30 06:57:00 | In My Computer right click on the CDRom drive. Two of the options are EjectCD and Close tray. This works in WinXP. You can create a shortcut to the CDRom drive on the desktop and access the drop down menu from there if you want. |

| 204107 | 2003-12-30 07:30:00 | If I used the bottom drive bay on my computer, the power button would be roughly an inch ;) below the CD eject button... I can see where he's coming from :) Mind you, my two CD drives are 2 more bays above that, so its never an issue :) Mike. |

| 204108 | 2003-12-30 08:47:00 | I use plain old Win 98. I guess one of the above will have suited your needs, but the following may be of interest. I found a site Click Here (www.copydesk.org), which gives a 135kb download for a "fun" cupholder prog. which opens and closes the cd drawer. (Scroll down to, cupholder.exe) You mention that you would prefer a keyboard operation. I have made mine so that I can press Ctr+Alt+H and it will open a very small box with two options listed. [Extend cupholder] and [Retract cupholder]. Pressing Enter opens the drawer and Tab Enter closes it. Pressing Escape closes the small box. (I just tried it right in the middle of this typing and it worked without messing up the post ok, so should work anywhere). There is a much simpler one using Notepad and no downloading, but I can't locate it at present. Cheers. |
