| 204553 | 2004-01-09 06:50:00 | Go to this page (mjc1.com), read the information there then download the StartupList program. Install and run it then post the results on this forum for someone knowlegeable to assist. If no one can assist or see anything out of the ordinary go to one of the forums listed on that page and ask for help there. They may want you to download and run the HijackThis program to check for spyware but post your problem's details on one of the forums first. | tommy (2826) | ||

| 204557 | 2004-01-09 20:18:00 | Aha, my firewall has suddenly decided to let me know what is trying to ring out, and it's everything from Norton anti-virus, which I got rid of ages ago to Microsoft Word! Why on earth should Microsoft Word want to connect to the Internet there are also other things like control verisign whatever that is. Still don't know what to do about them though. Particularly Norton's I thought I had thoroughly removed that from the computer some time ago. | Bumfluff (3523) | ||
| 204558 | 2004-01-14 00:20:00 | Finally. Got a prog. that lets you decide what runs on bootup. That got rid of half the problem. Norton anti virus was the other half. In spite of being uninstalled it was still ringing out. Somehow gone feral. Deinstalled it again, dunno what was still there. Prob. solved. Thanks to all. B. | Bumfluff (3523) | ||
