In your PC, the HDD is plugged into the Primary IDE cable, and is set to Master. If you have extra HDDs, one may be set to slave and also on the Primary cable. It would be likely that your CD ROM/Writer at the moment are plugged in to the Secondary IDE channel, set to Master/Slave respectively, using a separate cable to the one going into the HDD. > Thanks for the help so far.
