| 204720 | 2004-01-01 09:26:00 | From dse.co.nz Cat #XH6765 (I havent worked out which part to cut from the URL yet ;-)) It says it supports Linux. How much is it supported though...? Im currently running 2.4.20-gentoo-r8 kernel, soon to be 2.6 (with V4L2 IIRC?!). All I remember is that my bt878+ based card was a pain in the ass and never _actually_ got more than a b/w screen in Redhat 8 (It didnt like 9 - Apparently there's kernel issues since 2.4.20). Is it worth the buy, and will you all help me should I screw up? ;-) If nobody majorly objects, Im off to buy it tomorrow morning before heading out to help somebody compile the 2.6 kernel :-) Cheers Chill. |

| 204723 | 2004-01-01 10:16:00 | Yup :-) That's the one...! Its mainly coz it has Linux support (and isnt based on the bt878 chipset...!) Im not sure... Go for it or not? I want a capture card, but is this the one? |

| 204724 | 2004-01-01 10:29:00 | Ask them at DSE if it will do what you want. If they say it will and it won't, you can return it. If they don't know I am sure they will take it back anyway. They are pretty good at that sort of thing at DSE. J :D |

| 204726 | 2004-01-02 11:44:00 | Well, Ive bought it... Dunno how the hell to get it to work with the 2.6 kernel... And I really dont wanna have to go back to the 2.4 kernel (I s'pose I could, but that means recompiling the nVidia drvers etc...). Has anybody done V4L with kernel-2.6 yet? |
