205107 2004-01-03 21:07:00 I have Win XP pro installed and had to re-install XP (the 'upgrade' option) to fix a problem.

Each time I boot up and log in I get a message window that says "The system has recovered from a serious error" even though I click on the close button on the message it keeps coming back and I can't get rid of it. The system runs fine now apart from that.

Any suggestions how to get rid of the box without a complete re-install (I've already done that twice)

205108 2004-01-03 21:31:00 Do you have SP1 installed? This Microsoft Knowledge Base Article should help: You Receive a "System Has Recovered from a Serious Error" Message After Every Restart (support.microsoft.com) Jen C (20)
205109 2004-01-04 01:48:00 Hi Jen,

thanks for the help. I had SP1 installed, but thought I'd download the patch as well. It didn't get rid of the sytem error box but strangely It has fixed the problem I had downloading pics and being unable to view them in graphics program unless I 'resaved' them. It has also fixed the problem that I've had since I got XP a year ago where I was unable to send pics as e-mail attachments!

A big thankyou even though it didn't fix the original problem... computers eh!
