2004-01-02 06:13:00 | my video card is a "nVidia g-force mx 440 8x agp with video out" when playing dvd's with powerdvd xp every thing is fine but when I enable tv out the video is not drawn fast enough in the action/fast moving screens. ie. the bottom half of the video lags behind making it look like bottom half of the frame has been cut and replaced with that of the previous frame. does anyone know how I can fix this ? -Jacob

2004-01-02 07:03:00 | Hi Jacob, You never mentioned what type of TV-O you were doing? Is it mirroring the VGA output? Is it a seperate output altogether? Have you got the latest Drivers? Im of the thinking you're doing 2x Seperate monitors, and the second one is your TV-O. Try Cloning the Displays, or set your TV as Primary Monitor and see if that works :-) Cheers Chill.

2004-01-02 07:16:00 | thanks for the reply, Yes the output to tv is mirroring that of the monitor (clone mode) s-video converted to RCA using the converter that came with the card and the monitor set as default I have the latest directx and nvidia drivers. I forgot to mention that the video on the monitor also lags. -Jacob

2004-01-02 09:27:00 | Can you somehow tell it to not display on the computer monitor if it is displaying on the tv screen? It might not be able to power display to both. Mike.

2004-01-02 19:36:00 | wouldn't think so because turning off/disconnecting the monitor doesn't change a thing | Jacob4165 (199) | |
2004-01-02 20:06:00 | Turning off your monitor doesn't tell the video card to stop processing for that port. If you can turn off your vga port the video card will be processing video for just the tv out, rather than for both. Mike.

2004-01-02 20:13:00 | Under the NV Control Panel, you should have a several Output options: Clone Single output select Dual-Monitor And Im sure there's another, but I cant remember. Basically I think Mikes trying to say that you should try selecting TV-O as your Only output. What speed processor do you have and what version of PowerDVD?

2004-01-03 20:36:00 | ok, I'll try that the specs on the machine are, amd xp1800 cpu, pcchips mb825ulr mobo (agp4x), 256mb sd ram, 30 gig hdd (6gb free), nVidia GeForce 4 mx 440 8xagp, Aopen 16x dvd drive, cmi8738 4ch sound card(now working properly in powerdvd), powerdvd xp version 4.0, os is WinXP pro Correct me if I'm wrong but the 4x agp doesn't affect the performance of the video card except that it runs at 4x instead of 8x
