| 204810 | 2004-01-02 02:11:00 | From the FAQ's Does Slingshot Xcelerator speed up MP3 and FTP downloads? No. Slingshot Xcelerator only speeds up Web browsing. You can still do these activities, but at your normal dial up speeds. It seems to me that they cache web content on their servers and therefore you connect through them as a proxy and your browsing is faster. Gaming, downloads and so on are not cached, so there is no difference. Can I use Slipstream on more than one computer? Yes, but not at the same time. You're free to use slipstream from as many different computers as you like, but you'll only be able to use it on one PC at a time. This would be an issue for a home network both browsing the net at the same time? J :D |

| 204811 | 2004-01-02 02:36:00 | Hi Jester, Appreciate your quick response. Jetbuster is a combination of ADSL and Xcelerator. 256k browsing and 128k downloading. I am currently on dialup and was wondering how there price compared to other Isps using ADSL. Slingshot dont have any monthly limits or hidden costs. A straight $59.90 per month. I have seen other users complaining about low limits and always going over them and costing them a fortune. Thanks. |

| 204812 | 2004-01-02 02:54:00 | Fair comment. The lack of a cap may appeal to some who download a lot, as long as they don't think they will get true 256K speed for their downloads. Personally I haven't reached my 5GB cap in a month since having Jetstart, but others download lots more than I. I think it is a double-edged sword. If you have a faster connection, you download more and then get stung by the caps. If you have a slower speed (128K), you don't get as much coming 'down the pipe' at once so you can't download as much, which therefore doesn't reach the cap of 5 - 10 Gigs most ISP's have. The price is on a par with other ISP's, no worries there. J :D |
