205389 2004-01-05 03:11:00 Hi

Can anybody please tell me if there is a program that will detect a computer freeze, stop it from happening or at least log what happened/caused it. I thought Dr Watson was supposed to do this and also the event viewer but neither do.

Thank you

GeoffW

If the "freeze" stops all processing, then no program can run let alone be able to log what caused it.

In XP, if a fault causes a restart then that "feature" can be turned off to reveal a BSOD and error message, but a general and total freeze is more difficult.

Any chance of some clues as to hardware, software and Windows version?
