| 205654 | 2004-01-06 07:40:00 | CDROM not going,and i need to backup! im wanting to format and re install xp but cant burn cds 1- cannot drag and drop in windows explorer- says 'no cd in the drive' when quite clearly,there IS an EMPTY CDR straight out of the packet in there 2- my bro had some virtual drive software installed-when i disabled his virtual drives,restarted,the PC said 'are u sure u want to use this unsigned software'i said yes,,,and that was all,,now i have 2 extra drive letters that appear as DVDs- I TOLD HIM NOT to muck about with virtual drives on this stuffed pc company pc 3- Nero says 'you can only run nero on the installed cdrom that it was installed for' so no luck there What can i do! / WHen i insert cds they do show up the files that are there..so no problem there. Something with Burning,not reading.. incomplete Drivers? its a 3yr old pc thats completely stuffed and slow and in desperate need of formatingg btw the CDROM was replaced by Pc company when it wasnt faulty-which necessatated NERO being re installed,which they replaced with nero EXPRESS......so the burner USED to work with this software,i dont see whats changed to cause this problem. I burned a data cd with windows drag and drop in December.... 1ghz athlon xp home 256mb ram 20gb ATAPI cdrw 52x one last chance would be-to link it up with our newer PC,LAN,and transfer all the files thatway. Then format and muck around with this one ... Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
