2004-01-06 07:01:00 | I have been looking at buying some things from an overseas website . The website is based in America and looks fine and legitimate . I also noticed when looking at there buying facilities on their web site that when you purchase something it does look to be secure (the little lock in the IE status bar is present) . I was just wondering if there was any sights or resources on the web that you can check to see if web sites are safe to purchase from? I still find buying over the net using a credit card a worrying experience . Thanks for any help . Mantis

2004-01-06 10:03:00 | had a small surf thru the website and it seems a pretty good website and secure and i dont think u would have any problems with dealing with them but i cant see anything about them doing international purchases...but if they do then i'd say go for it :-) just 1 question, i think some banks offer security on credit card if its being used online incase it goes wrong or something but with that website i think u wont have to worry about ur credit card falling into the wrong hands and all that...but mite be worth to enquire about i dunno... and also make sure your dvd player can run their region 1 dvds unless its region free and then u wont have a problem :-) Happy shopping

You can check the site's security on that page (when the padlock shows closed) by clicking on the padlock. The thing I'd advise caution about is the delivery charges. For example, I ordered a Google T-Shirt, and they wanted to charge me US$85.00 for delivery alone!!! I kid you not. Fortunately my partner's father lives in the US so he's gonna bring it over when he visits. |

2004-01-07 00:29:00 | Get a second credit card solely for Internet buying and put a low credit limit on it, say $250 or a little more if you plan on making many purchases. This will limit the damage if anything goes wrong, however if you stick to mainsteam sites you will probably be OK anyway. Cheers Billy 8-{)

2004-01-07 00:34:00 | Thanks for everyones help.... They do ship internationally.... U.S.P.S.Global Priority - International freight is USD$13.00 (NZD$19.00 Approx) which for delivery of a box set is pretty reasonable I think. I did click on the padlock on their secure page and it brought up their security settings, but to be honest, I didn't really understand it?? Thanks for your help though. Mantis
