Could be any number of posts, you got people refreshing pages and just reading stuff without actually posting anything.

205515 2004-01-06 12:16:00 Of course, that was silly of me. Why I ask is that some boards have stats on the number of posts so I was going to take an educated guess at the number. No worries. :-) parry (27)

My forum had around 45 members last month, and used only 350 megs - I thought that was huge bandwidth! lol

205517 2004-01-06 19:31:00 One assumes it is based on number of users, regularity of visits, length of threads displayed, number of threads viewed, number of threads displayed on the home page, shoe size of the moderator, and solar flare activity.

Nice one Tony :D

Ads come from a different server I take it?

Thinking about that though, lets say you can get 50 page's in a Meg (Which in reality isnt too slim, is it?).
1024MB in a Gig, so 1024x 50 = 51200

Metla's forum does 5 gigs a month
Gregs does 350
So working that out, Greg would do omwhere around 17500 page hits, which seems like quite a bit.
Metla reakons he does 5 gigs, so either he runs a very image-laden forum, or he really does get 256,000 page views
That'd work out at around 7,500 page views per member per month...
Or 250 page views a day....

...Or my basic math is failing me, or the size of an average page is larger than Ive allowed for in these calculations?

Right? Wrong? Close?

Chill.

205520 2004-01-06 21:28:00 Hmm.... Upon further investigation, the size of the forum pages is larger than I'd thought?!

Apparently the size of the main forum page (when set to view 50) is somewhere around the 100KB mark....

So if we divide those figures by 10...

*Chill runs off to check the batteries on the calculator... Maybe I can blame them.... ;-) :D

Whoa.Best bet in that case is i have read my net stats wrong.
metla (154)
205522 2004-01-06 23:10:00 In Dec I had 917 visits, with 9.8 pages per visit. Average page size is around 30KB. My members don't have the ability to add fancy graphic signatures, and the max avatar size is quite small - 6KB Greg S (201)
