205605 2004-01-06 04:06:00 Hi,
I have been playing the above chess game for several years - against 15 odd opponents, at a time- today, after opening and resending succesfully all morning - this afternoon I cannot get the attachment to open.
Suddenly two hours later -lo, and behold --It was operating normally, and this, long after I had spent time trying to resolve it, including a fresh downloading of the game, which had not made the slightest difference.

Suddenly things went normally- untill after an hour, the same thing happened again.
The attachment invites you to open or save, and I can see the save window so that is available, but a split second showing of the hourglass and it goes no further- this has a similarity with Outlook Express which when one tries to open a new program - this same hour glass flashes and is gone- ie the program is already working.
The only thing that I have done differently is downloaded "webshot" and installed that.
Even after the webshot download- things reverted to normal- what am I missing?

It suggests you might want to think again about Webshots?

205607 2004-01-06 06:46:00 Hi Godfather,
No luck I am afraid- I deleted webshots forthwith as per your "link" and that in itself gives me the dry horrors- so thank you - once a again, if nothing else than for what that link states.
Now what can I do about no success anyway?
What does not make sense is - without any resetting what so ever - the chess suddenly started to open again- then once again it stopped, inexplicably.
If I only knew what to do , I would keep a dozen miles from webshots- the chess just is not slow- it flickers the hourglass and that is it- no matter how long I wait

205608 2004-01-06 06:52:00 Hi GF,
what do you know - within ten minutes things worked- it took that long to get the ****** files/ program out by the looks of it.
Anyway unless my luck drops out again I will carry on -- and must once again state you are worth your weight in gold!
