| 206143 | 2004-01-08 22:27:00 | I have in the past run win98 which has msconfig to change the programs that are loaded at start up. I am wondering if win 2000 has anything like this so i can load hijack blaster on start up as i seem to keep losing my home page | maximise (4687) | ||

Other option is to run cwshredder and then spybot, then use spybot to lock down your homepage. Plus, seeing as it loks like your wanting a certain program to load at start up all you have to do is make a shortcut to the program in your startup folder and it will launch automaticly on boot. |

It works just as well on Win 2000. Have a look at SpywareBlaster from here (www.webattack.com) and before someone posts about it, it far better than the Spybot immunize function, with many more "immunizations". Spybot "specialises in spyware/scumware while SpywareBlaster specialises in stopping IE hijacks. Hijackthis is used for cleaning and sorting out but wont guard against hijacks. It is very detailed and if you don't know what you are doing, can cause you to remove the wrong file and have to re-install. |
