205889 2004-01-07 11:13:00 I have had to reinstall microsoft office after updating my OS
i have lost all my emails and folders, however i have a complete backup
of my program files. Is there a way i can copy certain files back over?
What files hold this info?

205890 2004-01-07 11:18:00 Look for .pst files. Large files usually.
But they are unlikely to be with your "program files", more likely to be in the "documents and settings" or "my document" trees.

Depends on version of Windows and Office, which you do not mention.

You can then specify where your backup is and bingo.

205892 2004-01-07 21:55:00 If you have upgraded to Win XP your folders and files should still be on your hard drive, probably on the same partition as Windows (usually C: ) under Documents and Settings|UserName. Do a search on the HDD for your *.pst and *.doc files after enabling Show Hidden Files and Folders under Tools/Folder Options/View in Windows Explorer. Fire-and-Ice (3910)
