205880 2004-01-08 10:06:00 yeah, i was looking at them.
reccomended for car use - when you don't have a casette player.
Why would they be illegal in NZ?
There range was only about 70feet - with line of sight

205882 2004-01-09 01:17:00 "on trademe ... firewire card for $42". Ahem. The old rule with auctions is "check the retail price first". It's becoming more relevant than ever as the price of computer parts drops. :D

DSE will sell you a PCI firewire card for $39. And if you walk to the shop, there won't be a courier charge. I am sure that other retailers will have similar or better prices.

I'll wait to hear how much the usb cable is first anyways.
Thanks again - save me a few $$ :D

205884 2004-01-09 05:06:00 As I recall, this product is made by Belkin and is one of many iPod accessories available. You can buy them from http://www.totallymac.com (a New Zealand based shop, despite the .com suffix), and I also saw them in Harvey Norman in Christchurch recently for about $70.

By the way, I don't see why they would be illegal either.
