| 206472 | 2004-01-10 03:57:00 | On the advice of my tech. with the same theme as previously disscussed with god father. There is a problem opening up my chess games (called thatgame) that are sent via email. when you select the attachment to open it, it comes up with the dialogue box that gives you the option to save or open. If we save the file to the desktop we can open the file and make a move. If we click on open file, outlook express is unpredictable won't open it. i.e some times it will some times it wont. All other attachments eg jpg, doc, xls, gif, ppt (office and picture files) files will always open every time. He has uninstalled the programme and went through the registry searching for occurence of the programe and removed it. After reinstalling the programme it hasn't fixed the problem. It is still intermitant. He is stumped.. Not sure what it is. He has also checked email settings. Any suggestions ? effie c |

| 206473 | 2004-01-10 07:34:00 | Hi, I believe I have found the answer- my tech went home in disgust- and a friend who works at Telecom has suggested my e mail was corrupt-I tried opening at his suggestion, --in the ISP website- and that worked,so I redownloaded the double version of Internet Explorer and Outlook Express and lo and behold- success----at very least I did all the remaining chess games without a hitch Thanks to evrybody concerned- that was the last thing I would have thought of, as I redownloaded just Internet Explorer yesterday with no different result- it had to be both effie c |

| 206475 | 2004-01-10 20:27:00 | Both That Game Chess and OE are email SMTP type programs . It does not surprise me that there is an obscure MAPI or other conflict . My simple fix would be to try another email program, such as Eudora or Pegasus and not to use OE . I gave up on OE years ago . |
