206477 2004-01-10 03:41:00 hi ya,

this is a email we are talking about?

what email prog are you using?

is it an attachment? ( that sounds odd i know)

in OE in> tools > options> security >
do you have ticked or unticked do not allow attachments to be saved or opened ?

have you scanned it with a virus prog ? as a precaution ?

can you save it as another file and open from some where else? my docs? or desktop?

206480 2004-01-10 04:19:00 Thanks for your help...Will ask her but have been in e-mail contact for years with this never ever happening.....but THERE IS ALWAYS A FIRST TIME... olldaddy76 (2539)
206481 2004-01-10 04:33:00 Did you check the security setting mentioned earlier?

I see in your reply you say you havent had any prior trouble,This does not mean that your security setting isnt at fault, maybe just that no files have come through before this that were in a format MS have labeled unsafe.

Check the setting.

206482 2004-01-10 04:41:00 do you have another email client or a webmail account? open it in another program or forward it to a hotmail account, download it and open it from there. Megaman (344)
206483 2004-01-10 05:11:00 Hi
Might be a million miles off course here, but had a somewhat similar problem some time ago, sending a friend a PowerPoint file - they did not have a PowerPoint reader.

206484 2004-01-10 05:12:00 My SECURITY SETTING is CUSTOM and I have no other e-mail programs in use. olldaddy76 (2539)
206485 2004-01-10 05:16:00 Does this email appear as an envelope with a blue padlock over it?

If it does, you daughter might of accidently encrypted the email she sent you, and you don't have the key to open it.

Ask her if this might be the case, and she can re-send it without the encryption.
