| 206395 | 2004-01-09 19:26:00 | I'm sure the arguement has been carried out in here for many years. :) Personally: nVidia. They've been there longer and they know the market and the cards better than anything else. ATI seem to have bombarded us with a series of cards which with the add of the acronym, you add a couple of hundred dollars. I have a Winfast A280 LE TDH My VIVO Geforce 4 Ti4200 128MB (long huh?!). Friend has ATI Radeon 9600 Pro. Both are the same price. Yet, which one is better? I'm obviously going to vouch for mine, but I need some support here. I've heard all sorts of claims such as "ATI is built ONLY for gaming!".. yet when I head over to their website, I see "Delivering the Ultimate in Visual Experience": no mention of gaming there... Perhaps they like ATI because they have a wider range? I'm going to leave that for you. :) |

You have to ask yourself why Microsoft went with an nVidia-based GeForce MX 300 equiv in their XBox? You also have to ask yourself why after having a little scrap with nVIdia they're supposed to be going to Ati next in line... You have to ask yourself why some games are "optimised" for nVidia and AMD CPU's... You also have to ask yourself why are some games "optimised" for Ati and Intel CPU's?! They both specialise in gaming, contrare to what you may think.... nVidia have just released the FX 5950 which is supposed to offer un-parralelled performanace in Half-life 2 based engine-based games. Personally, Im a big nVidia fan, but that's partially because of their excellent Linux support. Apples Oranges Pick which ever tickles your fancy IMO. Chill. |
