206288 2004-01-09 08:07:00 A lot of people on this forum swear by (or at)

Firewall : ZoneAlarm (www.zonelabs.com)

AntiVirus : AVG Free_Edition (www.grisoft.com)

Cheers, Babe.

206289 2004-01-09 08:08:00 Add another for AVG :-)

Are you wanting a Dedicated or Software firewall?

Zone Alarm seems to do nicely.

Goto Windowsupdate and click on MS's 1,2,3 steps to securing your PC, they recommend a few there, along with a years free Anti-virus subscription with an AV program :-)

Hope this helps

206291 2004-01-09 08:54:00 And another vote for AVG and Sygate *Sparky* (311)
206292 2004-01-09 09:22:00 Well I would like to suggest Agnitum Outpost for a good easy to use Firewall. Blocks pop-ups and is easy to configure. Can't provide a link to the homepage at the moment as the site seems to be down. But have a google for it.

AVG as well for Antivirus software :)

206293 2004-01-09 19:28:00 Go AVG! Everyone says go buy Norton... but I stick by my faith! Jaguar (4442)
206294 2004-01-09 21:01:00 Like the rest, AVG is a pretty good freebie anti virus programme which is reliable. I have Kerio Personal Firewall installed and it too, is a good freebie. Smurf (506)
206295 2004-01-09 23:18:00 AVG & Kerio here. Prefer Kerio, but oddly enough, I need to turn it off to Down Load AVG updates - maybe just the way I have it set up.
Bye
