206922 2004-01-12 07:11:00 I downloaded and installed Mail Washer (free version). This has a setting of how often to chech the server for emails.

Although Mail Washer Pro is not limited to more than one email server it is limited to one email account per server. I.E. I use the proxy server for one email account and rely on an established connection to check for other email. The problem being that I have two ISP email accounts and I can only use one of them in Mail Washer. Just as well I can set Outlook to delete spam since ISP can detect spam.

Also, it appears that Mail Washer (both pro and free) downloads the whole email as it is rather slow. I can download hundreds of newsgroup headers from MSnews within the same time frame.

That depends on how busy your ISP mail server is.

206924 2004-01-12 20:22:00 Earlier versions of Mailwasher Free had multiple pop3 and Hotmail capabilities. You may find it on older PC World cover disks.

I have an old version available at

If you are interested

Thanks - I shall try and get around the following issue:

Site: splatty.orcon.net.nz

Blocked categories: Religion

206926 2004-01-12 23:29:00 The vze address redirects to an Orcon hosted site, yep . No issues there - I just set up the redirect to mask the true site's name as it was easier to give out the 'mailwash' addy and I used to have family details, pics and so on there .

I have no idea what you are on about with the blocked categories . . . 'religion' ??!!

Your site Jester has the word "creator" in it. Whatever software that JAllenNZ is using must be set to flag that word as being associated with the blocked category for religion.

206928 2004-01-13 08:56:00 hi ya
ok Jester

i tried your mailwasher version, and found downloads ok, but cannot install as some file was missing? cannot remember which one no big deal i thought so i went back to new version of mailwasher (redownloaded as i had removed it as a precaution)
so could not open file to install.

just curious to see if any one else had this prob or just me,
seems its always just me and this puter..... but it was work puter i tried on so that made me think something else may have caused it.

206931 2004-01-13 09:29:00 Jen - Thanks :) Ahhhhh, that makes sense (sorta) ... the wording now reads "from the developer's homepage", not "creator's"!

Beetle - hmmmm, not sure what happened there :O - however I have re-uploaded the file, and then tried downloading it, then installed it on another pc and it worked. May have been because I transferred it with an FTP program. This time I copied it using Explorer's FTP, the file retained its size. Sorry bout that.
