| 206649 | 2004-01-11 04:00:00 | Bought a second hand Winfast TV2000xp deluxe. Saw it running on a w98se system. Took it home and installed it on my xp2000 prof. Loaded the software ok although seemed a little different to the steps as shown in the manual. Did all the scans to detect fm and tv channels, shows all the local fm frequencies and all tv channels (except tv2) only problem is no audio. Have checked all external connections and seem ok. Any hints received with thanks. |

| 206650 | 2004-01-11 04:38:00 | You can do two things: Do a search for xp specific drivers for your card, and if you cannot find any you will probably need to source updated WDM drivers. These are generic drivers that may or may not work with your card. I got a dynalink magic tview card in a similar manner and found these wdm drivers work fine. The reason that sound is most commonly the problem with tv tuners is the manufacturers use a bunch of different adio decoders, and you will need a driver that specifically supports your card. Here is one place to get wdm drivers from - it also has a bunch of info about the cards and drivers sourceforge.net Before you use these, check that your card has a chip on it labelled BT8x8, where x can be any number. These btwincap drivers are only for this series card. Hope this helps. |

| 206651 | 2004-01-11 06:55:00 | Hi, this is probably a silly thing to ask but... is the Tuner card connected to your sound card. I have the same card and it SHOULD have a cable which goes from the tuner card's LINE OUT to your sound card's LINE IN. If you do have it connected then check your sound card's LINE IN or AUX volume level in the volume control panel. If you don't have the cable I'm talking about then you will need to buy a 3.5mm stereo plug to 3.5mm stereo plug cable, you should be able to get it at Dick Smith's. Alternatively if you have the cable and still no sound then try downloading the latest drivers, they are newer than the set bundled with the card and they support teletext as well... have a look at them on the Leadtek (www.leadtek.com) site. Hope that helps cheers chiefnz |
