| 206844 | 2004-01-11 22:19:00 | On my other PC (Athlon thunderbird 1.4ghz, 256mb RAM, 80GB hdd), recently the response time for right clicking on files and folders is very slow (several minutes). This problem has never happened before. I have run Adaware on the computer, done a full system antivirus scan using latest updates, defragged all hard drives, but to no avail. Any ideas? |

| 206847 | 2004-01-11 23:24:00 | somebody Kiwitas posted the following on 9 January which might explain your problem - "XP Slow and NAV Live Update? Posted: Jan 9, 2004 6:52 PM Reply If you are experiencing slow response to right clicking or your WORD or EXCEL apps wont open on your Windows XP OS,it may be caused by the latest(07-01-2004)NortonsAV live update? There is a workaround available at,service1.symantec.com 10810205113. It was earlier advised not to manually download this update on XP and to wait until it was fixed or until next update was due in a weeks time? Cheers,Kiwitas," Oxie |

| 206848 | 2004-01-11 23:58:00 | Yes - sorry I forgot to mention - WinXP Home. Thanks guys, I'll have a look. I did have that exact same update, but I also have it on this PC and it doesn't have any problems. I'll wait till the next update is out and download that, and see if it works. The computer has been and is still on a network, and has never had a problem earlier, so I don't think that would be it. |
