207224 2004-01-14 00:38:00 Ive just undertaken setting up squirrelmail.

I think Ive done everything following:
forums.gentoo.org
only without the spam / antivirus stuff

When I try and view the webpage though, I only get the raw php code?

What've I done wrong?

Many thanks

207225 2004-01-14 01:05:00 do you have php setup? :) stu140103 (137)
207226 2004-01-14 01:07:00 It'sa matter of installing a module... should be easy, like all computer things. :_|

Google has a bit ...

"apache php" will find some articles on the installation ... start with the one headed "Linux planet Turorials -- adding PHP to apache".

"apache php install" finds some people who have had problems ... maybe there'll be something there. ;-)

207227 2004-01-14 03:50:00 PHP hasn't been configured properly. Make sure everything in the httpd.conf is correct.

If you want to save all the effort of configuring, I'd suggest downloading XAMPP (or LAMPP for Linux version), which is a preconfigured Apache-PHP-Perl-MySQL-SSL server.

207228 2004-01-14 04:21:00 Go to your httpd.conf (etc/httpd/conf on a RedHat based system) and search for "php". It is likely that you only need to uncomment out some code as Apache and php go together so well. Dolby Digital (160)
207229 2004-01-14 05:49:00 Thanks guys, I'll check the httpd.conf file.

Im running Gentoo Liux so I just ran:
emerge mod_php && emerge php among a few other things.. Then later found that website...

Im pretty sure there's a plugin or line I just needa un-comment so I'll check that .conf file :-)

Cheers

207230 2004-01-14 07:22:00 Figured it...
needed to edit /etc/conf.d/apache2 and change:
APACHE_OPTS=""
to:
APACHE_OPTS="-D PHP4"

Works great.. Now to sort out web-signup for the webmail server :-)

Cheers
