| 1332444 | 2013-03-13 05:15:00 | Is it just me or does the rumored Samsung Galaxy SIV look like a suped up iPhone 5? I'm no fanboy of Apple, or Samsung for that matter, but, the SIV looks pretty much like the iPhone. The way that the edge has been built, flat not curved, and how it is metallic in look. Is it just me or is ti because now Jobs is dead that Samsung is getting bolder? The only differences that are obvious is the fact that it runs Android, and the much larger screen Is it me, of am I missing the point? |

| 1332449 | 2013-03-13 18:00:00 | Firstly I think anyone with eyes can see the first samsung smartphone was very iPhone like in appearance and can understand why apple didn't like that. That said Samsumg didn't design android and just how different can a touchscreen smartphone really look physically?Since then though I think subsequent models only look anything like iphones because both samsung and apple are building on their origianl phones which looked alike. To me it's like saying Computer monitors look alike and therefore must be copying each other, or TV sets, or keybords, or mice, etc etc.they perform they same function and must fall within a limited size range so naturally they are all going to look similar. Android to me though are the real culprits, while it's true it's very different from iOS in function the original appearance of the two systems is clearly very similar but again how different can a bunch of icons on a screen really look? (actually microsoft have done a good job of making their OS look quite different). |

Although I saw an article on Neowin this morning that Apple were looking to release a budget iPhone, and get this, it's made of plastic! Now that's something for all those fanboys who say all the other OEM's are crappy because of their "cheap and nasty" plastic bodies!! Personally, I think a budget iPhone would be an awful move. And certainly something dreamed up now that poor old Steve is gone. That will really mess up their line, it's pretty cluttered as is. Hopefully the resulting 2-3 years will give WP some traction and/or allow a competing OS into the market. To be honest, I love android but I think it has some big google problems (eg what google do with the data) and iOS is just a bit meh. WP is decent but there's not a large enough user base, and other than that there's nothing else of any real quality. Hopefully Firefox OS and Ubuntu Smartphone make some real impacts |

| 1332453 | 2013-03-15 19:39:00 | I never got this whole; (this is sarcasm - I did get the whole Apple vs Samsung thing, but still think it's really stupid) *Apple - "I'm going to take you to court because your Phone looks like a Phone, and not just any Phone, but a Phone that we designed/made/advertised etc"* What are other Makers meant to do - make a triangle phone!? Watch out if Apple start making Monitors (I'm aware they already do, again this is sarcasm) - they'll take Dell for all their worth for having square, 17, 19, 21" etc monitors!!! |
