1331680 2013-03-07 08:57:00 When I was in the Army you had to go for a dental check up every six months. It was free but it was a place of parade so you had to go regardless of if you wanted to go or not. Now I am out of the Army there is no compulsion to go to the dentist. Bobh (5192)
1331681 2013-03-07 20:41:00 Having seen the difficulty and lack of pleasure that my elderly parents have with eating due to having very few or no teeth I am determined to look after mine and keep them for as long as possible. Yes, the dentist does cost a lot of money but so do false teeth and they are uncomfortable, especially as one ages.

Like others have said, I am not afraid of the dentist, just the bill every time I go. :(

1331683 2013-03-08 03:17:00 Been twice since 1974 when I had my top teeth pulled out and a plate to replace them. Cost b*****-all as the dentist and his 2 cars was a client. Only charge was for the Tech man to make the plate at cost price. We looked after him pretty well it seemed. had 1 lower tooth out in 1988 and haven't been since. Touch wood!!!

That is less than $1/year
