1331741 2013-03-07 20:41:00 Well I won't rush to get IE10 but I'll be using it when it auto updates. Let's be honest here, the real reason most people don't like IE is because of anti Microsoft or anti monopoly feelings rather than its performance. Yes it has been less standards compliant etc historically but that effects developers not the average end user.

I avoid cluttering my system up with multiple programs that do the same job as much as possible so I stick with IE. I find the more you add to windows the more potential for problems you create. I quite like chrome and I don't mind FF but I see no compelling reason to install either as long as IE works and it does. It might be different if you could replace IE completely and not have problems with Windows but you can't.

1331742 2013-03-07 20:46:00 I think the reason it looks like it does in the screenshot is because of the Google Ads. Chilling_Silence (9)
1331743 2013-03-07 21:17:00 I get the occasional random scroll bar in posts with Firefox as well, and not necessarily the first post with the Google ad. Jen (38)

I've noticed that a scrollbar appears when a smiley appears on the last line by itself, like this.

Like this. :)

1331746 2013-03-07 22:39:00 hey - does it matter what browser you are using or not?
I'm still using FF myself, but I have started using chrome and IE for some specific things as I too have become a bit annoyed with the way FF seems to have gone the last six months or more BUT...

Isn't the problem here that the site should work on ALL COMMON BROWSERS.

If not, the fault is on the IT team that handle the site.

Is it not?

1331748 2013-03-08 01:48:00 In IE10 it looks like this with the first post on each page with scroll bars. In FF which this is posted from it looks ok. The reason I posted this from FF is because IE10 won't let me post attachments. Comes up with the message "A problem with this webpage caused Internet Explorer to close and reopen."
:)

The problem appears to be with IE10 - it doesn't play nicely with attachments on other sites running vBulletin either (or microsoft's own site, as in the example below). I don't think our IT team can fix it, in other words, bevy121 and Trev. If there's a fix, I'm sure we'll implement it. The thread below suggests using compatibility mode to add attachments. If someone would like to test that?

Given that "the site" in this case is essentially vBulletin rather than PC World, I'm not sure we're in a position to fix it until either Microsoft or vBulletin release a patch to handle it. All we can do is advise that uploading attachments won't work in IE10 on the main page.
