| 207426 | 2004-01-14 21:02:00 | Greetings. I am operating Win ME. Yesterday i installed a CDRW drive, which works fine but each time I start windows my mouse pointer freezes. If i run control panel/add new hardware/search for new hardware the mouse unfreezes, but it is a pain doing that each time. Also, i seem to get an occasional blue screen with a "write error drive C" message. Scandisk starts each time, but takes hours to finish, and doesn't seem to fix anything. This error has been around for a couple of weeks, since i tried to delete some stuff while simultaneously doing a defrag. Yes, I am a dork. Any ideas? |

Make sure it is all working correctly. Then you can think about adding the CDRW. Don't ever add hardware or software to a system which isn't working properly. That always leads to tears before bedtime. |
