| 207589 | 2004-01-15 06:18:00 | Hi. Um, i'm in panic mode here. U may have seen my other posts - new hdd, partitioning problems... anyway - i was all fine, until i needed to format an old partition (which i had copied over to the new hdd) and a couldn't format it through xp - said it was been used. So i tried using the xp recovery console. Only thing - i must have typed the worng drive letter (i'm sure i didn't - but its to late now) and i formated F drive - not G (which i intended to) F drive contained all my programs - so i'm stuk without alot now. I used quick format if thats any help. But is there a program that willl recover it all for me (8gbs) If so, what and where? Thanks |

| 207597 | 2004-01-15 08:14:00 | tht program turned up about 300 folders all named various numerals (eg, 1289172) some containing files i recognised. But as it was where all my programs were intsalled - the odd file ain't much good. But has anyone used those "unformat" commands? i might give them a try |

| 207598 | 2004-01-15 08:36:00 | Be careful, try and use the drive as LITTLE as possible, anything writing over it will likely cause it to be lost for almost ever (Unless you want to go to a data recovery specialist and fork out some do$h). I used un-format about 10 years ago on a 286.. It worked... Dunno how much things have changed since then? |
