207473 2004-01-14 21:52:00 Hi.
I just installed a new 80gb Seagate HDD - to go with my 60gb.
I booted up - and all was good - it wasn't displayed in My Computer, so i went into Computer Management, and as soon as I clicked Disk Management it came up convert to Dynamic Disk or something, i just cliked next, next...
But now, I'm up to the formating part - i can only format it as NTFS - i want it as FAT32.

I had a quik look thro the help - and i see that theres to types of disk - Dynamic and Basic - i take it it has to be Baisc to be formated as FAT32?

And i don't no how to convert it back to basic...

ALso - its a 80gb hdd, but it picks it up as only a 74.53GB?

207475 2004-01-14 22:08:00 You cannot format a volume larger than 32 gigabytes (GB) in size using the FAT32 file system during the Windows XP installation process .

Windows XP can mount and support FAT32 volumes larger than 32 GB (subject to the other limits), but you cannot create a FAT32 volume larger than 32 GB by using the Format tool during Setup .

If you need to format a volume that is larger than 32 GB using FAT32, don't do it using the XP process .

Another option is to start from a Microsoft Windows 98 or Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me) Startup disk and use the Format tool included on the disk .
