| 207722 | 2004-01-15 21:27:00 | How easy would it be to remove mailwasher and see what happens? I haven't used mailwasher, but by the sound of it, it actually does the collection itself and acts as a pseudo mailserver? On the face of it, I would guess that mailwasher is the problem, especially if both OE and Eudora are hanging. Usually when my email hangs it is a problem with the ISP server, your server is mailwasher. robo. |

| 207723 | 2004-01-16 08:56:00 | Mailwasher reads the mail from your ISP's server, it downloads the headers and context in text format, but it doesn't actually store the mail on your PC for other clients to retrieve the mail from. You mention that your default mail program times out when Mailwasher has collected the mail? In my case, Mailwasher tells me what's on the server, I can elect what to bounce and delete, then click the mail program in Mailwashr to permanently download the remaining mail I want to keep to my PC. In Mailwasher (depending on what version you use), you have to specify a default mail client. Under Tools / Options / General there is a button to Specify what email program to collect mail after processing. Maybe you have selected a "preconfigured mail account" and it is looking for msn, hotmail or outlook express? You may to to "specify a mail client" and navigate to the exe that launches Eudora. Let us know how you get on J :D |
