| 208333 | 2004-01-19 00:03:00 | Win XP Home. I have found that some drivers should be updated e.g. Video driver. Are there any steps I should take before installing the updates, like backup the old ones? Thanks M... |

Where have you obtained your updated drivers from? Should only be from the graphics card/chipset maker in my opinion, and I only update if I have to in order to correct a problem. |

| 208335 | 2004-01-19 02:54:00 | Hail to thee Godfather. I got the update from Nvidia for my GeForce2 card. I didn't have any problems but just thought better update. All hell broke loose when installed, screen size diminished, some fonts were minute even at full size settings, all desktop icons were too small. OK, it's my inexperience, but never again - if it ain't broke don't fix it or at least read the book. Rolled back to restore point and all ok now. Another newbie hair-raiser Thanks M... |
