| 208243 | 2004-01-18 06:21:00 | I have an HP pavilion 8850 with integrated graphics,since i cannot afford a graphics card i would like to change the amount of ram dedicated for graphics. This would normally be a setting in the BIOS,however there is no setting in my bios(or it is hidden), My BIOS Is Phoenixbios 4.0 revision 6 HELP Any idea how to change the graphics ram????? |

| 208244 | 2004-01-18 06:31:00 | HP (and other brand names) usually have a "customised version" of the standard BIOS. Its not uncommon to find not all BIOS settings are the same as retail versions. Its not as simple as flashing a full version of the BIOS either, as motherboard hardware can differ. Therefore you may find there is no setting? Its done to limit the amount of problems customers can cause, so makes the overall reliability higher, and the support costs lower. |

| 208245 | 2004-01-18 22:42:00 | If it uses the i810 chip then you can't because it changes the amount automatically. Increasing the amount allocated probably won't improve anything anyway since most onboard chips are fairly limited. |
