| 208237 | 2004-01-18 05:58:00 | I've been trying to sort my brother's computer. Reformatted etc and now whenever it runs IE to view web pages the system crashes after about a minute. The error message is ...Remote Procedure Call Service Terminated etc. All other apps cause no problem at all. This has happened after a complete re-format and minimal hardware installed, and all latest drivers ok. IE 6. WinXP Pro SP1, on a laptop with P4 2.0G - store-bought Compaq EvoN1000v 512 MB RAM Any ideas please? |

| 208239 | 2004-01-18 06:45:00 | Thx Jim - you deserve a prize! DOH me! I am pretty nasties-aware, and I now recall all the blah about this virus recently, but stupidly I didn't even consider it to be an issue after I completely reformatted! Well - I'll transfer my AVG to his machine and do a sweep, and report back here tomorrow. Thx again! |

| 208241 | 2004-01-18 06:54:00 | You need to actvate/install firewall, ctrl-alt-del and stop msblaster service. download the fix (securityresponse.symantec.com) and apply. Alos get the MicroSoft updates for your operating system. | Pheonix (280) | ||
| 208242 | 2004-01-18 07:44:00 | ms blaster is a nasty little blighter. turn on a firewall, download the patch and then run something like symantec removal tool (www.symantec.com) | Megaman (344) | ||
