| 208327 | 2004-01-18 22:27:00 | I have been using IHUG ULTRA for about 5 years now and have generally had few problems. However, since I bought a new PC running XP Home, I get frequent disconnections. If I bypass the satellite and use the straight dialup connection there are no disconnections IHUG tell me that this is because I am running Zone Alarm as my firewall and that the only way to sort this problem is to remove my firewall. For obvious reasons I am not keen to do this. Has anyone else had this problem, and, more importantly, has anyone got a solution (aside from not running a firewall)? All suggestions gratefully received |

| 208331 | 2004-01-19 03:41:00 | I don't thionk its the modem as when I am connected "normally" it stays online with no problems. The model is a dynalink PCI modem with all the most recent drivers Where would I find the error bit rate? |

| 208332 | 2004-01-19 05:18:00 | i'll rephrase that.....when you say disconnecting do you mean the modem is disconnecing or does the data just stop (ie modem is still connected but nothing happens) the bit error rate is in the sat program. what model ihug sat card. driver ver and firmware ver? it shows it in the sat program. |
