| 208192 | 2004-01-18 02:11:00 | I have reinstalled Office 97 Pro on a Windows 98 system and am unable to reinstall SR-2b. I did the original uninstall because Outlook stopped opening and have manually deleted the registry keys associated with the previous SR-1. Have also run the microsoft office eraser utility and did a "clean" install of Office. Still keep getting the message "Either Office 97 is not installed on this computer, or there are files from multiple versions of Office 97 on this computer..." The version of Outlook is the original 97 version. Any ideas please? thanks bernie |

| 208193 | 2004-01-19 05:59:00 | Fastest and best method for least amount of problems - though not easiest - is to reformat the hard drive and reinstall Windows followed by Office 97. If not installed cleanly, O97 SP1 caused corruption problems and O97 SP2 could not be installed. Ensure critical data is backed up.
