I got an average of 8-900ms pings on servers I now get 90-100ms pings (now Im on JetStream Starter!) when I was on Dial-Up with Ihug. If you want good ping times then get JetStream Starter (Dont go home, I gaurantee you'll go over your limit!)! Hope this helps Chill. |

| 208683 | 2004-01-20 21:48:00 | Thanks for that Chilly Man , After reading some of the other comments from people using far better pc's than me , cause mine is only a P3 866 Mhz with 320 ram but i do have a new video card (Asus V9180 se geforce 4 mx440 ) maybe that makes the biggest difference as i can use the setting above 800x600 with all the extras turned on before any slow down is noticable on the silent cartographer which i got off the free pc world disc with the mag. that also gives you the on line game as well not bad for free! and really i only have very minimal lag on the net game , when i tried my mates similar pc on jetstream i was surprised to find very little difference but in can depend on the night as my isp does vary a fair bit, hence my orginal question are some better than others. Well thanks for that , I will see on blood gulch. cheers Jason. |

Could be.. Mostly I'd say its how far away from the server you're playing on. Admittedly I was playing a full game (Not Halo either)... your ping time varies a LOT dependant upon a LOT of things, perhaps somebody else will post a good explanation/URL of how ping times work etc :-) Cheers Chill. |

| 208686 | 2004-01-21 21:37:00 | 220 to 300 is a good ping for Halo seeing as most of the servers are offshore and you are not going to get any better. I have a JetStart plan and can get no better pings. Having said that I don't get my arse kicked but do a lot of kicking. It may not be your ping that needs work. | Big John (551) | ||
| 208687 | 2004-01-22 04:15:00 | Anything less than 350ms should be good enough for a large part of Halo playback. C-S or other games where you're shot the moment you walk round the corner may be a little different however... |
