208670 2004-01-20 08:45:00 Recently I've been getting the BSOD quite a lot at random intervals.
The error message is "Page Fault in nonpaged area" , or "IRQL not less or equal"

I understand this may be something to do with IRQ sharing. However I have no idea what to look for with conflicts, or how to correct them. The following is copied from my System Information Conflicts/Sharing tab:

I/O Port 0x00000000-0x00000CF7 PCI bus
I/O Port 0x00000000-0x00000CF7 Direct memory access controller

I'm running Windows XP with an Athlon 1400, & 512M Ram.

Help! How do I fix these conflicts to get rid of the BSOD? (if in fact that is what's causing it)

Tony

208672 2004-01-20 09:21:00 Chikara,

This error will appear more often than not when using resources that share the same IRQ, e.g. a sound card and video sharing the same IRQ will crash (BSOD) the system during games or when running other programs that use those same devices intensively; whereas, running a wordprocessor will not show that error. So it would seem that the problem is directly related to IRQ levels. One thing you can try is switching the physical locations of internal cards. (Note that the AGP slots in most motherboards share an IRQ with the PCI slot next to it.)

Cheers, Babe.
