| 208576 | 2004-01-19 22:40:00 | My brother has recently bought The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King PC game but it will not play once we have installed it. we have all of the system requirements (we have windows xp) but when we try to play the game a message appears which says "cannot find any 3D Direct drivers with the required capabilities. Make sure you have the right drivers." What does this mean and what should i do from here? Please help! |

| 208578 | 2004-01-19 22:49:00 | You need up update your Graphics Drivers and possilby DirectX to the latest (9.0b) The easiest way to do this is to open up Internet Explorer and click Tools -->> Windows Update hopefully you wont have any critical updates... You shouldnt... Anyways, Under Recommended updates is DirectX, you'll want that but the rest can wait Install that first Then go back to WindowsUpdate and click Driver Updates, you'll want the nVidia or ATi ones :-) If you want the absolute latest (or if you have an ATi card, Im not sure if they put drivers on windowsupdate) then you'll need to check out nVidia.com for the latest Forceware drivers, and I believe Ati.com for the latest Catalyst driver set :-) Hope this helps Chill. |
