I have a sony DDu1621 DVD drive, and with most of the cds now, the cd drive locks up when i put cds in. The light stays on, the disc spins but the icon disapears from my computer. Any ideas> |

go to the sony site and download the lastest drivers. if you've recently installed a new piece of hardware and it's drivers or some more software, try uninstalling that if the updated drivers don't work. if neither of these work if it was under warrenty i would just take the drive back to the shop.
do dvd movies cause the drive to lock up? maybe it just doesnt like cds. |

It use to be fine, and lockls uo for dvd's too.. what is the site for the firmware? or is it just drivers? |

i don't know about the firmware, try going to www.sony.com and search for drivers |
