209398 2004-01-22 22:30:00 Does anyone know how to get the flash plugin working in Mozilla on Mandrake9.2??
I have tried with Mozilla 1.4 and also upgraded to 1.6
The flash plugin is flash-plugin-6.0.79-2.i386.rpm.
Have also tried the generic plugin from Macromedia.
Any flash sites just crash Mozilla.
Thanks

209400 2004-01-24 05:11:00 It didn;t seem to want to work for me either, although I didn't try very hard.

It worked fine with all previous versions of mandrake.

209401 2004-01-24 19:35:00 I had got the Macromedia Flash Plugin working from Macromedia.

Here is how i did it

1. Download flash plugin, what the heck, download it from my ftp site, ftp://ilikelinux.no-ip.info/install_flash_player_6_linux.tar
2. Extract the tar file to your Desktop
3. Start up a Terminal. (not super user.)
4.use this command cd Desktop/install_flash_player_6_linux
5. Make shure that you are not in root.
6. type ./flashplayer-installer
7. Follow instructions.

209402 2004-01-25 08:52:00 I had a play with ldd and found the problem. There is a missing library which the RPM version complains about.

The easiest way to get it installed is to follow the second linux link (macromedia.mplug.org) at the macromedia site and get the MDK9.2 RPM.

Then at a root terminal, run "urpmi flash-plugin-6.0.79-2.i386.rpm", and let it install the other required library.

When its done it will tell you to run /usr/lib/flash/setup to complete the install.

209403 2004-01-28 07:54:00 Weird, I just cant get it to work, although it worked for me on 9.1 and I got it going on my wifes comp in 9.2 with the 9.1 flash rpm.
Have now installed Slackware 9.1, which has flash built in.
Thanks for the help people.
