| 209206 | 2004-01-22 03:53:00 | This has most likely to have happened to someone with a partner. Lynne wanted to use the phone which is also used by Outlook Express 6 She didn't know how to stop this PC, from the connecting screen, to God only knows what was running, as the only auto connect is AVG and that's at 8am, she was trying to close the machine between 10am and 10.40am, when I arrived back home. When trying to log onto Outlook the initial screen comes up as far as the AVG icon and then just sits there with the hourglass going for ages. Have shutdown and started the machine 5 or 6 times to see if it could bring up the last sucessful bootup but with no sucess. Win98SE and IE6 latest version. Thanks for any help. Les 3 |

Basically you cannot open up Outlook Express because the AVG splash screen comes up instead and it then hangs?? Have you tried to disable AVG from running and see whether that helps initially? |

If there is anything odd in there remove the tick to prevent it running on the next boot. To try and restore a previous good copy of the registry see the FAQ section for the Registry FAQ for advice. Note that it will take a long time to load. |
