209845 2004-01-25 10:08:00 I have inserted and rebooted from a system recovery CD, into a Pavilion 4403 (Win 98) all go's well, selecting "format and recover". When rebooting after a "successful recover screen" a message that the OS is missing.
(The BIOS is set to boot from the CD)
I have searched on the HP site and checked the FDISK message and followed this through, but with no change.

Any assistance would be gratefully accepted.

Thanks

209846 2004-01-25 11:18:00 Just check the BIOS that the hard drive is still selected as a boot option, especially if you have been in there to change the settings so that the CD drive is bootable.

The BIOS boot device order should go:
1. floppy
2. cd-rom
3. hard drive
