2004-01-24 09:18:00 | Lost and Found file report?????? this is way off topic sorry folks, been waiting a lot recently for people on pf1 to catch up with them about some things, but find some have gone or are on holiday? had even noticed and done some checking that other regular peoples have not been seen for a considerable time???? and also a point to note that Chat has been very quiet again over the holidays even on the regular get together nights ???? are people who were regulars become lurkers now or just not here at all anymore? has anyone noticed other missing in action people???? anyone know who is missing? or why? anybody out there???? I miss you people. and i m glad the rest of you are still here..... :) beetle

2004-01-24 10:01:00 | I am only having a shot in the dark here, but I think what you will find is people now days are either not having any computer problems or there have just been too busy with other thing like life, work etc.... Or have just lost instead in Pf1 for many reason I guess, e.g. the forum having lot of problems with speed etc... And it does take a bit of time out of your day answering question every day and you some times you just loss instead in doing it. That is the way the internet works really, people come & people go, site get busy & site slow down, and I am also guessing a few people are still on holiday etc... I know of two of the old regular e.g. sal & clueless has had problems in some form.

2004-01-24 11:15:00 | I had noticed the absence of various regulars too Beetle. I think Stu is right - we all come and go for various reasons. I enjoy PF1 but it was rather interrupting my day and I've throttled back my browsing lately. Alas enthusiasms wax and wane. But you cannot leave Beetle - you are a permanent part of the show. ;)

2004-01-24 11:31:00 | yeah W001 i feel lately ive been too busy being busy to enjoy smelling the rose's as it were. i dont have time to think let alone, have a life, my children have basically done nothing over the holidays, which is sad, as generally we are always out and about in previous years, work has got in the way again and again....... i am so busy at the moment running myself loopy here at the motel, we have carpet being laid soon, painters coming back and the kidlets starting school/ kindy, and then me back at school / work / kindy that i dont have time to enjoy doing nothing any more???? working on auto pilot it seems. i am scared witless at the idea im back at school, and majorly worried my grades will go down, due to how busy we have become here at the motel. why is it we push ourselves so hard that we dont sit back and enjoy the ride anymore???? we are constantly driving ourselves to exhaustion? or we cannot be nice with out haveing a complaint about something else going on in our lives? i dont mean to sound morbid but life seems to be passing me by and im missing it? i miss being me, and i miss my family. but i do love being here on pf1. beetle

2004-01-24 18:14:00 | I wonder if after the december giveaway incident, people with 500+ posts decided to make themselves a new username in the event that a future competition were to arrise, so they have extra chances? | somebody (208) | |
2004-01-24 18:29:00 | Beetle, I know that Chilling_Silently has gone for a few days, (parachuting) I don't know where everybody else is (may be at my forum (joking))

2004-01-24 19:01:00 | Well, I'm still around, but I have tried for years to mow the grass in ever decreasing circles, and have never yet been able to disappear at the vanishing point :) The other main point Stu mentioned is that, (with the exception of Bloggsy :D ), XP doesnt give the same problems as Win9x. There has been a noticeable drop off in OS problems, though networking, modems, and peripherals seem to have their usual quirks.

2004-01-24 19:45:00 | Hi Beetle - Just the holidays. Heaps of children, grandchildren and passing friends. In this case, the spare bedroom where the system resides seems to have been occupied by visitors since mid-December, denying me the time to sit and browse. Good luck with the studies. Been there, done that, and years later wondered whether the time might have been better spent with the kids before they left to start the whole cycle again. | Scouse (83) | |
2004-01-25 02:25:00 | beetle, you really need a holiday I think . Have you thought about "getting away from it all", perhaps staying in a Motel for a week? . . . . Rumour has it there is a good one in the Wanganui area . . . . ?
