| 209478 | 2004-01-23 06:39:00 | Bought one yesterday that slots into USB (ZyAIR B-220). Doesn't seem to work. Checked out Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 313242, didn't help. Behaviour of software associated with it seems pretty erratic, sometimes shows in systray sometimes doesn't. Checked through WinXP (=OS on both machines) it wasn't able to detect any conflicts - claimed all drivers were installed ok and claimed that both devices were working properly (on the other hand, this WinXp won't restore very well to previous restore points, and seems pretty unstable (eq. Windows Explorer has suffered an unexpected/unknown problem and has to close etc. etc.) Checked over Google, didn't find much. So, in general, quite apart from this specific case, how do you find out if your wireless peer-to-peer setup is able to work, and if it doesn't, how do you pin down which machine is the culprit, and whether it is a hardware or a software problem? |
