Yep, people have to moan about something, so it may as well be Bill. He doesn't care anyway. :D

210143 2004-01-26 20:55:00 Interesting in that I cannot think of anyone who has been knighted (honorary or real) that was not a subject of the british Commonwealth at the time.

See what happens when NZ uses their own honors, Britain has to look elsewhere :D

210144 2004-01-26 21:02:00 I think it's wonderfull news that Bill is to be blessed by Lizzy but, don't take this story at face value folks.

I have heard a little wisper that the sword Lizzy will be waving around Bill's shoulders will be much sharper than the regular version. The intention is that the anointment will hark back to much earlier times, ie, the sword will take the shortest route possible from shoulder to shoulder. All in the name of efficiency, of course.

Cheers Murray ;P

There was someone recently but I can't think who it was. Unless it is our ol' Bill and this is old news? ;-)

210146 2004-01-26 22:36:00 if 2000 was "recently"
then here u go..

Film director Steven Spielberg is to receive an honorary knighthood. Emily Morgan has the details. The British embassy in Washington has confirmed the director of ET and Jurassic Park will receive the reward at the end of January. The ceremony will be held after a private dinner for his family and friends hosted by the British Ambassador, Sir Christopher Meyer. Since Mr Spielberg isn't British he won't become a 'Sir' or kneel in front of the Queen but he'll be able to put the letters KBE after his name, which stands for Knight of the British Empire. He's not the only American to receive such rewards, former President George Bush and comedian Bob Hope were also given knighthoods.

i think in this case he deserves it for fighting world proverty..and for empolyment as if there wasnt a microsoft then a lot of ppl wouldnt be working unless there was something else in its place......

and yippeee we cant call him Sir Bill....as if Mr Spielberg got one too then we can only call him KBE Bill....
