| 210579 | 2004-01-27 22:47:00 | Hey Just wondering if anyone could tell what processes I actually need running, when you press Control Alt Delete then switch to the processes tab? because I have got truck loads of things in there and Im sure that all of them arent needed using too much memory Windows XP 1024mb Ram 2158Mhz AMD Athlon XP Please Help |

| 210581 | 2004-01-27 23:07:00 | Hi, theres no definitive list as you may have certain programs that others dont but this link (www.liutilities.com) is a good starting point of showing you the Windows processes - see the System Process heading. Windows processes shouldnt be closed so by process of elimination you can look for other items in your Task Manager that you can close. There are utilities such as X-Setup which will enable you to easily stop programs starting when you boot up. hth |
