210545 2004-01-27 15:17:00 I want to buy a fast notebook at the end of the year.Which shop do you recommend? What happened to THE PC COMPANY?It used to advertise in pcworld magazine.I heard its closed down.I kinda like that company. They're price was reasonably cheap.
Any suggestion who I should seek?I wanna get an athlon notebook. Are there actually athlon xp notebooks?

PriceSpy shows cheapest prices for numerous components (only for companies that subscribe to their service). They are a good idea of what kind of prices you should be getting.

Goog luck.

You do realise that we still have 11 months to go before the end of the year? And we are talking about computers here..... what's fast now will be a bit of a slug by then.......

Come back and ask us again around November. ;-)

210549 2004-01-29 01:16:00 There are a number of threads on PF1 giving advice for buying a notebook or laptop. Do a search.

I took about 8 months to make a decision. Ultimately I decided that a good brand-name and local service back-up rated ahead of price.

210550 2004-01-29 14:55:00 I seem to have trouble finding athlon notebooks.I wonder why the vendors only sells intel notebooks..? yingxuan (3330)
210551 2004-01-29 19:16:00 I know both Asus and HP offer Athlon notebooks. Heres a company (www.ascent.co.nz) that sells both and Im sure theres a few more as Ive seen Athlons in Quay Computers and Harvey Norman in Wgtn. As always, it pays to shop around. parry (27)
