Yes - they sold out the first time.

210383 2004-01-27 09:39:00 How on earth can a product be sold out, when Dell claims to build on order? Stock up! peter.jonsson (3024)

Because Dell wasn't selling them, The Warehouse was. The Warehouse buys items, then sells them. Obviously they had sold all the Dell machines they had bought. Therefore they had "sold out". Nothing at all to do with Dell or how Dell sells/builds their machines.

210385 2004-01-27 10:21:00 They are an excellent computer. My BF brought one last time they were on special, as he is well pleased.

I noticed some other retailers stocking thier $999 variation at the same time, so it goes to show that The Warehouse does indeed foster competition.

210386 2004-01-27 10:45:00 I for one have disagreed with dells, i don't like the cases.

The more i look at the Dell computer, the more i wonder what it would be suited for.

With a celeron, it's bound to be bogged down sooner or later, and those internet sites might get slower and slower, but more importantly, i disagree with the integrated graphics and floppy drive.

For not much more, i designed a computer than outpaces that in everyway. I posted this elsewhere, but if i told you where, they'd tell me off for advertising.

210387 2004-01-27 10:52:00 Yes, but Dell have the ability to follow up with support, to mass-market, to distribute nation-wide... Amongst other things.

To be honest, I doubt most users would max out that 2.4Ghz Celeron processor enough to warrant an upgrade any time soon.

The thing is, its not a high-end gaming PC, and as long as the buyers realise this, then most who buy it are getting quite a good deal that I'd hope they're happy with.

For those of you who missed the TV Advert, you should have a circular in your letterbox within 24 Hours. Its on the front page...

Welcome to Press F1

Nice to get some consumer feedback - and nice to welcome another female to a statistically one-sided group.

(Pulls covers over head to escape complaints from angry males yelling:"sexism.")

Thinks:What are the teenage girls doing while the teenage boys are on PF1?
Is this the equality I fought for & won before they were born?
I can't believe it's all Robbie Williams & Britney Spears....

I know that the targetted market ain't the bunch to work this horse to death, but then again, i can be a generalist.

.....

You're not all using a dell now, are you? :o
